ML Utilities Acquires Cherokee Truck Equipment, LLC.

We’re thrilled to announce that effective April 30, 2022, ML Utilities has acquired Cherokee Truck Equipment, LLC, expanding our footprint and range of customized services to support our growing customer base throughout Tennessee, Georgia, and the surrounding region.
It is an exciting time for both companies, our group of talented employees, and of course, you, our customer. Cherokee has upheld a tradition of providing its customers with exceptional services for over 40 years, and we’re proud to join forces with such an outstanding team.
At ML Utilities, we’ve built our reputation as a “one-call” solution provider for fleet maintenance, compliance inspections, on/off-site repair, and management services to the utility sector since 2017. By joining forces with Cherokee, it will help us better deliver on that value proposition because of their exceptional skill-set and complimentary service offerings. Similar to our purchase of Utility Equipment Service (UES) last year, this is an ideal partnership, as Cherokee’s culture aligns closely with ours. Their values of service, safety, and caring for one another, are deeply rooted and we’ll continue to honor their legacy every day.
The acquisition includes Cherokee’s 20,000 sq. ft. facility in Chattanooga, and its 15,000 sq. ft. branch in Mableton, Georgia, near Atlanta – growing our footprint throughout the region with additional mobile and in-shop services. Our talented team of technicians, support fleet owners and customers throughout Maryland, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia, South Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio.
This synergistic partnership enables us to provide customers in the truck and utility equipment industry with more complete “one-call” cradle to grave services. From building and upfitting equipment, to offering comprehensive maintenance plans, inspection services, and even disposal of used assets, you will now have access to comprehensive support throughout your equipment’s life cycle.
Cherokee’s core capabilities include equipment diagnosis, testing, inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, as well as a full-service web-based parts and equipment division which operates in a stand-alone location in Chattanooga. Additionally, Cherokee sells new and used truck equipment and specializes in truck upfitting packages for railroad operations. Simply put, it’s a great fit and now we’ll be able to provide you with more comprehensive “one-call” solutions.

ML Utilities Acquires Utility Equipment Service, Inc.

We are pleased to announce that effective September 1, 2021, ML Utilities has acquired Spring Hill, Tennessee-based Utility Equipment Service, Inc. (UES). This purchase will better position us to support our growing customer base and expand our range of services throughout Middle Tennessee and the surrounding region.
It is an exciting time for both companies, our group of talented employees, and of course, you our customer. UES has a great tradition of providing its customers with exceptional services for 40 years and we’re excited to be growing our business and joining forces with such an outstanding team. Our family-focused company culture and tireless commitment to safety have been instrumental in building ML Utilities, and those are values that we share with UES.
Now as part of ML Utilities, UES will complement their wide range of shop service capabilities with additional mobile field units providing ANSI inspections, annual DOT certifications, dielectric testing, hydraulic diagnostics, utility fleet repair, custom fabrication, lube & chassis services, and more. All functions are safely performed by an experienced team of highly trained service technicians.
Along with locations in Charlotte, NC, Baltimore, MD, and now, Spring Hill, TN, our team of technicians’ provides services to fleet owners and customers throughout Maryland, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio.
As we continue to grow, our focus remains on being the premier “one-call” solution for fleet maintenance, inspections, repair and management services to the utility sector. In doing so, we’re always striving to add value to our customers by providing a wide range of mobile and shop capabilities for utility equipment that includes, aerial devices, pressure diggers, boom trucks, digger derricks and related support equipment.
Our ability to recruit talented technicians, implement stringent safety protocols in the shop and field, provide extensive resources and training programs, all under an experienced leadership team, has served as a successful launching pad for ML Utilities.
